The Alchemist’s Library – Calvin Monroe’s Latest Adventure

About Chris

Chris Borhani’s work is meant to provoke interest in the past, in particular the mysteries surrounding it.

His thriller novels are built against backdrops of thought-provoking questions arising from the mysteries of the past. They are designed not only to entertain but also to inspire readers to ponder these ancient enigmas.

In addition to writing fiction, Chris also writes and shares articles on the archaeological sites he visits and photographs on the Rockpile Project website, which he created in 2018 as a public resource for information about ancient sites of interest in Greece, Turkey, and beyond.

Chris was born and raised in Michigan (USA), where he studied history at Michigan State University and earned a graduate degree from the University of Michigan. He has been living overseas for most of his life, which has allowed him to travel widely and learn more about places all around the world and the stories behind them. He has held faculty appointments as a lecturer of English at several universities in Turkey and South Korea, and he currently lives in Greece.

The Calvin Monroe Series of Thrillers

Since childhood Calvin Monroe has been fascinated with the past, so it was only natural that when he went off to college he would major in history. What he never expected was that a term paper he would write for a class would get him an invitation to present at a conference in Turkey, where he would meet Jay Kim, a researcher and author who shares Calvin’s passion for the mysteries of history but is frustrated with his own reputation as a fringe theorist. Together the two of them team up to travel the world as they seek to solve the enigmas of the distant past.

The paper earns him a chance to travel to Turkey, which sets him off on a journey to see the archaeological wonders of the country—not only to look for the civilization that was lost in the Flood, but also to explore the origins of civilization itself.
